Our Mission
Meals Matter is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to combating food insecurity while instilling lasting commitment to volunteerism in youth through activism and action.
We support and oversee chapters to ensure effective, community-driven efforts—empowering students to lead food drives, organize events, and strengthen communities so no one goes hungry, no matter where they live.

Our Story
Meals Matter began with a small group of motivated students at Middleton High School in Middleton, Wisconsin, who were determined to create meaningful change in their community.
After recognizing a sharp rise in food insecurity in Middleton, these students took action—organizing their first food drive in 2024 at a local grocery store. The response was immediate and powerful. What started as a single event quickly revealed something bigger: their efforts were making a real difference.

Within its first year, Meals Matter grew beyond the boundaries of one community. Through outreach to schools across the country and the passion of students eager to lead, new chapters began forming nationwide.
Together, these student-led initiatives became what Meals Matter is today—a growing movement committed to fighting hunger and empowering youth to take action.
